Assistant Vice-President , Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN)
Mona Eghanian is Assistant Vice-President for the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN), the Government of Ontario’s flagship initiative on the future of automotive and mobility. Mona received her Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) from Western University, and her M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business. Mona has an extensive background in strategy development, technology transformation and data insights, and prior to working at OCI, she worked in the financial services and industrial manufacturing sectors. Mona holds a Professional Engineering designation in Ontario.

True Patriot Love, Challenge Factory, and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce have partnered to launch the Veteran Friendly Ontario (VFO) Challenge – an experiential training program designed to accelerate and enrich small-medium sized business (SME – up to 500 employees) recruitment, onboarding, and hiring of Veterans.
This free program will develop Veterans’ civilian career-ready skills and provide content and tools to help Veterans gain situational awareness of SME needs and challenges. In parallel, it will facilitate further opportunities for small- to medium-sized business owners and hiring managers to experience first-hand the value of Veteran talent, skills, and problem-solving, while increasing business owner competence in talent attraction, retention, and career management. This is all done with the goal of increasing income resiliency for both groups and, possibly, creating employment opportunities.

He is a frequent presenter at conferences and private corporate events where he delights audiences with practical advice peppered with fascinating stories from his own experiences in the trenches practicing agile project management. He has taught for several years at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto where he won the coveted SCS Excellence in Teaching Award and is a regular guest lecturer in software engineering and project management classes at several other universities. Kevin Aguanno holds a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, and a Master's in Project Management from the School of Business and Public Management at George Washington University. Through the analysis of workplace scenarios, you will examine the source of the conflict, the motivation for the conflict of all parties involved and learn how to work toward building a solution.
Upon completion of this class you will learn to:
- Build effective working relationships
- Practice engaging in difficult conversations by creating a safe environment
- Walk through the steps for a successful confrontational conversation
- Provide meaningful feedback in various situations (ie. during a performance review or client presentation)
- Recognize the causes and sources of conflict (Healthy and Unhealthy)
- Use a constructive conflict model to analyze conflicts in a workplace setting
- Consider conflict in the social-cultural context
Upon completion you will receive a Certificate of Participation in “Constructive Conflict Management”. Attending 85% of the class is required for a certificate.
One-day workshop: November 8, 2023, In-person | 9am-4pm, with one-hour break
